There's barbecue and then there's Franklin Barbecue, a Texas mecca that does smoky and succulent meat like few others. You've heard about the scene at this famed Franklin hot spot, where it's not only common for diners to wait in an hours-long line for a taste of the slow-smoked brisket and ribs, but expected practice there as well. It turns out, though, that one customer in particular wasn't so keen on having to wait alongside everyone else before finally digging into a meal.

According to Benjamin Jacob, the general manager at Franklin's, Kanye West once tried to cheat the system at Franklin's, as Jacob explained in a recent piece in The New York Times. But what resulted when Mr. Kim Kardashian tried to pull this stunt might surprise you. It turns out that the restaurant’s staff responded to West in the same way they would to anyone else who tried to cut. "We didn't let him," Jacob noted. "Everybody's equal."

Well, maybe not everyone. Jacob explains that there was that one time in 2014 that President Barack Obama managed to make his way to the front without having to endure the line. Let's just call that a perk of being POTUS.
