"I wish I didn't hear the judges say I had the best dish. I knew I was going to be in the bottom. I didn't handle the timing of my demos as well as I should have; looking back, I could have done better," Christopher said in his exit interview
. But what he didn't know at that moment was that he was going to receive another chance at the competition in Star Salvation
In his first attempt at Salvation, Christopher's realistic about his chances at success, given his past struggles. "I'm hoping I get to cook again, because it's the only thing I seem to do well," he says. In Episode 5 of Star Salvation, he joins Chad and Luca, who seem to be leading the competition. Will Christopher be able to change that track record?

Luca joins Star Salvation this week, along with remaining competitors and fan favorites Martie and Chad. Luca is soon confronted by an issue that he struggled with in Episode 2. "You kind of had a hard time connecting with the viewer and the camera," Geoffrey reminds him before introducing the next test, which is to make a 30-second video demonstrating a single culinary tip.
Luca and Martie will demonstrate a similar tip, but each with their own approach. Chad, however, tackles what he does best. Who will move on and who will say goodbye?

You heard it here first: Food Network Star is kicking off an all-new ninth season on Sunday, June 2 at 9pm/8c, and returning judge-mentors Alton Brown, Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis will be there at the helm. This year the mentors are tasking 12 hopefuls with weekly Mentor and Star Challenges in the ultimate multi-month interview for the chance to earn their dream television job: their own show on Food Network. While the contestants bring with them a mix of backgrounds — including culinary school, restaurant management, private chef and food blogging — they have but one dream, which is to become the next Food Network Star. From now until next month's premiere, Star Talk will introduce one finalist a day until you, Star fans, meet them on camera during the show.
