Caption It: Look Over There

by in Food Network Star, June 27, 2014

Food Network Star, Season 10For the first time on Sunday, Food Network Star finalists will trade the camera screen for the stage as they get set to perform in live culinary demonstrations. The hopefuls are now five weeks into the contest, and while some are finally finding their footing with an audience, many are still struggling to command a meaningful presence, as they're running out of time during presentations and stumbling over their words. Because there's no time to hesitate and no opportunities for second takes when it comes to live performances, their first attempts will have to be their best if they want to wow the mentors.

Check out the sneak-peek photo above from Sunday's all-new episode. As Lenny works his way through his demonstration, he's seemingly caught up in something happening just over in the distance. What do you think could have grabbed his attention? Is this act somehow part of his performance, or has something gone wrong and he's forced to stop midexplanation?

Before you tune in on Sunday at 9|8c to find out what's going on here, we’re challenging you, Star fans, to write your best captions (tastefully appropriate, please) for this moment in the comments below.

Don't miss Food Network Star on Sunday at 9|8c.

Is it just me, or is it against-all-odds that Reuben is SO far ahead in the Fan Vote percentage? Sure, he's a nice guy, but let's face it: He's no Food Network Star. Get out there and vote for those who encompass all that it takes to be a true Food Network Star!

  7. Safarisal says:

Why are the judges liking Lenny?! He's such a buffoon with his fake accent and ridiculous costume that it's insulting to half the US. He misuses and overuses the placement of ma'am. He'd be thrown out of most southern kitchens for wearing a hat inside. Only a rodeo clown would wear that shirt with a neckerchief. Finally and most important, no real cowboy would wear jeans with a saggy rear end. He's a bad joke.

Can someone please tell Loreal that she is pronouncing her “hometown” of Lafayette La incorrectly? NO ONE here pronounces it the way she does, especially someone who was born and raised in Louisiana. It drives me nuts! It is just as bad as mispronouncing New Orleans. We say it – LA-FEE-ETTE. Not LA- FAA-YET.
