VOTE: Who Do You Think Is the Scariest Chopped Judge?

by in Community, June 15, 2013

Someone will get chopped on this Sunday's appropriately themed episode of Star (watch an extended preview here). Like most Star and Chopped endings, it won't be pretty. And it wouldn't be a real Chopped experience without a Chopped judge present — Alex Guarnaschelli, especially. Alex has judging down to a T, not to mention she understands the stress of these competitions, having recently won The Next Iron Chef.

Standing in front of the judges’ table on Chopped is scary for any contestant, especially when he or she is waiting to hear the criticism from the judges. Both Alton and Bobby have admitted they believe Alex is the scariest Chopped judge to face. But what do you think? Vote in Star Talk's poll below.

FN Dish caught up with Food Network stars, including Alton Brown, Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, Anne Burrell and the Neelys, as well as the judges themselves, among other famous faces, to ask the question, “Which Chopped judge are you most scared of?” Watch the video below to hear which judge came out on top as the scariest.

Who is scarier, the chopped judges or Alton, Bobby and Giada?

  2. Bob L. says:

Scott Conant comes in a close second but by far the scariest "Chopped" judge is Amanda Freitag. I call her "Amanda the Fierce." She gave Bobby Flay one of his toughest challenges on "Iron Chef America" and was a tough competitor in a past "Next Iron Chef" competition. The camera people on "Chopped" love to pick up on "Amanda the Fierce" observing the competing chefs.

  3. Grace says:

Chris Santos is definitely the scariest. Aaron and Amanda are the friendliest :)

  4. Lindamelinda says:

I think Chris Santos is more mean than scary but thats just my opinion. But love Chopped....more Chopped less Triple D please.

  5. John says:

    Freitag has class
Zakarian is given to hollow, egotistical chatter
    Chauhan has beautiful eyes
    Murphy is fair and balanced
    Samuelsson is insightful
    Conant fancies himself intimidating
    Guarnaschelli: Iron Façade
    Santos...blah
    Sanchez...double, no, triple blah

  6. Stuart says:

Rodney: THIS AIN'T NO PIE, JACK.

  7. Amy says:

I actually think Scott Conant is very kind and charming. He is often the one who goes out of his way to make encouraging comments. I'm disappointed when he isn't on a Chopped episode.

I'm with you 100% on this, at least on the kind part. He does always seem to try to find the silver lining and appreciate a brave attempt at a dish. Just dont mess up the pasta or serve raw onion. He does critique and critiques well. The ultimate panel for me is Conant, Santos and Alex G. All are tough. All are fair. And all don't take to the BS people try to pull after a flubbed dish. Amada would be first alternate. Would live to have a beer and chill with her. She just seems cool

  8. Bess says:

Actually, I think they are all scary because they act so superior, like they know so much more than the contestants, but when they are competing themselves, they don't know any more than anyone else.

  9. Connie Quaglia says:

Scott Conan keeps talking about Italians not using cheese with seafood. In Sicily they use cheese with seafood & all kinds of fish.
