Bobby Flay Fit Bobby Flay manages to stay fit and healthy even with a busy lifestyle as a chef, and he’s eager to share his healthy eating and fitness plan with fans in a seven-part Web series, Bobby Flay Fit.

Our exclusive seven-part web series, Bobby Flay Fit, offered a look into Bobby Flay’s lifestyle — despite his erratic, busy schedule as a chef, he makes time for exercise, plans healthy meals and practices portion control when he’s at restaurants (his own, or others’). We were curious about his strategy for tackling football parties, where the beer flows freely and the food is often over-the-top indulgent. Here are his game-day tips, plus a few healthy football-party recipes so you can enjoy this Sunday.

Do you have any tips for surviving a Super Bowl party?

Bobby Flay: You can’t get away from it. The reality is, I can tell you to bring a nice salad to a party, but nobody’s going to eat it. You’re going to be surrounded by chips and dip, chicken wings, chili and all those kinds of things. It’s totally fine. Just be careful with how much you eat. You don’t need bowls and bowls of the stuff. Just be moderate in the amount you eat and drink that day. You’ll enjoy the game better that way.

In terms of alcohol, what do you do?

BF: Let’s say I’m drinking a vodka-tonic. I’ll have one and then my next glass will be a glass of water. So that I go one-for-one — it helps fill me up that way. It won’t dilute the calories, but you’re not drinking vodka, after vodka. By doing one-and-one, it cuts my alcohol intake by half.

Whether you’re headed to a party or hosting one of your own, make sure there are plenty of healthy snack options around:

Katie Lee’s Chili Kale Chips
Dry Roasted Edamame With Black Sesame Seeds
Garlic-Mustard Beef Skewers
Chickpea Polenta Cakes
Ginger-Soy-Lime Marinated Shrimp

Mr. Flay. I watch Food Channel alot. Not too happy about the 2 men kissing after they won their home compitition….. I realize this is how life is… however.. my grandchildren also watch with me. S. Miller you have a lot to be enlightened about. Perhaps use the experience as an opportunity to teach your grandchildren tolerance and equality. Your negative comments are more disturbing and frightening to me (in this day and age) than two men kissing. You have every right to your opinions, but when they're hate-based, you may want to reconsider posting them in a public forum.
