We’re teaming up with fellow food bloggers and healthy eating advocates to host a Healthy Every Week Challenge, a month-long initiative to develop healthy eating habits. The plan an is to develop a manageable healthy habit each week that will carry through the new year. Join us here and share what you’re eating on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #gethealthy.

Week one of our Healthy Every Week Challenge is breakfast week and we’re all trying to eat breakfast daily (if you’re not involved in our challenge you should be eating breakfast too!). Smoothies are one favorite, fast, healthy breakfast and since they come in so many varieties and flavors, we asked our pals on Facebook and Twitter for their best smoothie combinations. Your ideas were creative and fun and it seems that many of you like to mix vegetables in with your fruit smoothies — a great way to get in a serving of vegetables at breakfast!

Here are a few highlights:

From Facebook:

Jennifer Blanchard: I love smoothies with coconut water, kale, banana and strawberries!

Nicole Simmons-Berrien Strawberry/banana with soy and wheat germ.

Nancy Fox My favorite is Jamba Juice’s “strawberries wild.”

Cheryl Leon Levy mixed berries with a little peanut butter, tofu, some skim milk, yogurt & bananas — I add a splash of citrus for a little zip!

Hilary Small handful of frozen blueberries, half of a frozen banana, lots of kale and some almond milk.

Carrie Phipps Hennessey Kefir, frozen berries, flaxseed, wheat germ, hemp seeds, and sometimes a banana. Even my 4-year-old loves it!

From Twitter:

@Ginger_Chey Favorite smoothie: banana, almond milk, agave nectar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla!

@ashleyreaverblueberries, banana and kale. Blue hides the green so kids will eat it 2!

@deepisekhonspinach + kale + blueberries + strawberries + pineapple + ground flax + almond milk…gross color, great taste!

@LittleSandyWmango, pineapple, banana, coconut milk & yogurt!

  8. I discovered more something totally new on this fat loss issue. Just one issue is that good nutrition is very vital while dieting. A big reduction in junk food, sugary meals, fried foods, sugary foods, pork, and white-colored flour products may be necessary. Retaining wastes unwanted organisms, and toxins may prevent desired goals for shedding fat. While a number of drugs in the short term solve the problem, the unpleasant side effects will not be worth it, they usually never offer you more than a short lived solution. It is a known idea that 95% of fad diet plans fail. Thank you for sharing your thinking on this weblog.
