Starting with whole grain oats — called groats — he and his wife, Bonnie, experimented with toasting, grinding and cooking their own oatmeal. When friends tried Coach’s oatmeal, they didn’t want to go back to regular oatmeal again, and Coach’s Oats was born.

    I like to make overnight oats. Put everything together in a bowl, pop it in the fridge, and in the morning, it's all ready. There is no excuse not to have a good hearty breakfast!

    Love 'em with sugar free maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon… Occasionally I like to make it a bit different and have my oatmeal with some Silk Coconut milk and mixed berries if I have them on hand. YUM!

      think again before using sugar-free syrup. it's not good for you at all — contains many artificial ingredients. you're better off with a tiny bit of real maple syrup, or fresh fruit to sweeten.

    I add raisins, sliced almonds, ground flax seeds and a tiny amount of brown sugar.

  8. I make a 6-serving batch on the weekend, then bring to work to reheat each day. Fresh fruit (blackberries, strawberries or bananas) and a shot of almond milk. Occasionally add some chopped almonds.

    Depends on my mood, but most of the time my favorite way to top my oats/oatmeal is with bananas. I always use cinnamon, sometimes almonds, and occasionally mango. Sometimes no topping is the way to go – au natural if you will!

    I like my steelcut oats w a tablespoon of tupelo honey sometimes w turbinado sugar and definitely fresh fruit! Fruits are blueberries or chopped up Granny Smith apple or blackeberries. For added protein I sometimes add some roasted walnuts!! Yuuummm!!!
