Starting with whole grain oats — called groats — he and his wife, Bonnie, experimented with toasting, grinding and cooking their own oatmeal. When friends tried Coach’s oatmeal, they didn’t want to go back to regular oatmeal again, and Coach’s Oats was born.

Their patented process allows Coach’s Oats to have a steel-cut texture and taste, but can cook in a fraction of the time. Coach’s Oats are great for quick, healthy breakfasts.     My go-to toppings are berries, cottage cheese and walnuts. Great mix of protein, fiber and healthy fats!

    How will I not eat them?? My favorite is classic though – tons of blueberries, sliced almonds, and either flax or chia seeds.

    I keep a small airtight jar in my refrigerator door that is a combination of bee pollen, chia seed, wheat germ and ground flax seed. I sprinkle a tablespoon of this on top of my oats, drizzle with a small amount of local honey, a few almonds and add about 1/4 cup warm almond milk! Yum!

    I eat my oats with my son, we put “magic sprinkles” on them, which are a mix of ground cinnamon and a smidge of nutmeg already mixed in our “magic sprinkle” bottle – ;)

    I put 1/4 cup pumpkin puree, 1/2 a pear, some frozen blueberries, 1 tsp molasses, flax, pepita seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts a dash of pumpkin pie spice and almond milk! Voila Pumpkin Pie oatmeal. Sometimes I even add some quinoa to my oats for a kick of protein! Sooooo goood.
