Win this book!

Joy Pierson, co-owner of one of New York city’s best-loved vegan restaurants, Candle 79 along with chefs Angel Ramos and Jorge Pineda  have a brand new cookbook out,  filled with their favorite meatless recipes, plus ones customers can’t seem to get enough of. The group is so passionate about the food they serve; the chefs were the food stylists for the book’s over-the-top images.

“It’s our customers who say, ‘I love that avocado soup. I want the recipe,’” Joy says. “People really want to eat this way, so we’re giving them the tools.”

Everything from the book is easy to execute using farmers’ market organic products, she says.

You can buy your own copy of the Candle 79 Cookbook or enter in the comments for a chance to win your own. Just let us know, in the comments, your favorite meatless Thanksgiving dish. The contest starts at 9:30 a.m. EST today, and ends on Friday, November 25 at 5 p.m. EST.

My favorite vegetarian dish would have to be green bean casserole. I've even made this dish vegan in the past from homemade mushroom "soup" using soy milk. Any dessert made with pumpkin is also good!

My favourite dish is one my daughter made last year. Its a sweet potato casserole from the Oh She Glows website. So delicious!

  3. Angela says:

It is a tie between my apple pecan cornbread stuffing and squash casserole. I love both and my guests rave about the dishes.

I actually love the cranberry sauce…made fresh (or from frozen cranberries), not from a can.

  7. Lauren says:

My favorite meatless dish is sweet potato casserole – preferably the lighter version recommended by this blog! I don't buy/cook meat and eat it rarely, and I'm relatively new to cooking vegetarian/vegan, so this cookbook would be great!

  8. Jane says:

Love the tofurkey roast! A great Thanksgiving centerpiece!

  9. Louise Andersen says:

Roasted brusselsprout, you gotta love that :)
