We're serving up fresh healthy gift ideas every day from now until December 12. Catch up on the previous gifts here.
Instead of arriving at a party with the same old bottle of bubbly, Giada suggests showing up with a Bellini kit, complete with fruit purees, an ice bucket and a bottle of Prosecco. Here's how she puts it together.
Bellinis are traditionally made with sparkling wine and fresh pureed peaches, which are hard to find this time of year, so Giada uses frozen. And she includes other purees alongside: blueberry, strawberry, you name it. "You can really use any fruit — bananas and raspberries are also good," she says. "The different colors make it appealing." She pours the purees into swing-top bottles and presents them in an ice bucket with Prosecco.
For an extra-special touch, include these bellini-making instructions on a handmade gift tag or recipe card:
For each serving, pour 2 to 4 tablespoons of the desired fruit puree into a Champagne flute. Slowly pour enough Prosecco into the flute to fill. Gently stir to blend. Garnish with the whole berries, as desired, and serve.
