is why I live in fear of messing up at work — wouldn’t you, if this were your boss?

My boyfriend just sent me this Good Magazine gallery of people’s fridge contents, sorted by occupation, age, and details. We’re most similar to the Journalist/Designer/School Teacher household, since always have fresh produce everywhere, protein, leftovers everywhere (because he eats 24/7), and lots of knick-knacks on the top shelf and the door. The rest of the list is pretty entertaining, especially the connection between jobs and fridges — check out the bartender’s fridge!

Yesterday a few of my colleagues and I got to experience the latest and greatest thing to happen to the Yankees… Food Network has entered the building. With the help of some very hard working employees here, we now officially have our own concession stand in the premium seating area.
Yesterday was a very soft and successful opening for family and friends. I will admit that I ate almost everything on the menu (and I’m still full) but was very impressed by the success of the food. Come opening day, those who can afford these cushioned seats are in for a very nice treat.
My favs include the hot dog on a pretzel bun with corn relish, the fried fish tacos, and the duck confit pizza. Check out some exclusive pictures of the concession stand and the brand new stadium:

Thanksgiving is a wonderful excuse for families to get together and eat a ridiculous amount of food. This year, same as last year, I made lamb chops. I know this doesn’t sound too traditional or special, but it was special to my family — specifically my brother.
See, it was my brother’s last home-cooked meal before being shipped off to Iraq and my family wanted to make something special for him. It came out perfect and I was thankful that I was able to give him what he enjoyed. (Except for the fact that he likes his well-done and had to throw it back on the grill.) I hope your Thanksgiving was as special as mine and that the food was delicious!

Last night, I had the privilege of attending the 7th annual World Cares Center’s Iron Skillet Cook Off, thanks to my awesome cousin, who invited me to the event. It was a meeting between renowned restaurant chefs and FDNY firefighters, battling for the first place title in the Iron Skillet Cook Off.
Besides their devilish good looks, these hardworking firefighters also had really sophisticated food. I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation and execution of their dishes. Now I want to become a firefighter so I can enjoy meals like that every day!
