One-on-One with the Latest Recruit Eliminated from the Red Team — Worst Cooks in America

by in Shows, February 9th, 2015

Leopold Nunan, Red TeamThis season on Worst Cooks in America, 14 new helpless home cooks entered the ranks to be mentored by chefs Tyler Florence and Anne Burrell. Split into the Blue and Red teams, they faced new cooking challenges every week, honing their skills until just two finalists (one from each team) remained to face off in one final cook-off. This week, the remaining four recruits were narrowed down to just two, who next week will face battling one another for the chance to walk away with $25,000 in cash, along with bragging rights for his or her mentor.

FN Dish has the exclusive interviews with the eliminated recruits from the Red Team and the Blue Team who haven’t been chosen to compete in the finale, although coming ever so close.

Breakfast, the Meal of Champions? Worst Cooks in America Preview

by in Shows, January 29th, 2015

Sarah plating her omoletIn Sunday’s upcoming episode of Worst Cooks in America at 10|9c, mentors Tyler Florence and Anne Burrell are testing the recruits on multitasking and time management, two skills that any good chef should have. And to get the recruits in the practice, they’ll be cooking a multicomponent breakfast. But of course on this show that’s easier said than done.

When it comes to making breakfast classics, these recruits have no clue where to begin, especially when it comes to poaching eggs or making pancakes from scratch. Even after the team demonstrations, some of the recruits are left fumbling, but some surprisingly do excel at creating a breakfast that at least looks good, like Sarah’s omelet above.

Caption It: Coaching from the Sidelines — Worst Cooks in America

Worst Cooks in AmericaOn Sunday’s upcoming episode of Worst Cooks in America, the remaining eight Boot Camp recruits will have to face their fears — of the fryer, that is. Tyler Florence and Anne Burrell have them cook Game Day foods with recipes that all require the use of a deep fryer. But what the recruits don’t admit to at first is that their fears go way beyond just the fryer: One has an actual phobia when it comes to condiments, and the other gets queasy at the sight of fish.

The Competition Gets Crepe-tacular — Worst Cooks in America Preview

by in Shows, January 14th, 2015

Crepe glued to the plateIn Sunday’s upcoming episode of Worst Cooks in America, mentors Tyler Florence and Anne Burrell give the recruits free reign when it comes to coming up with their own flavor combinations to fill crepes in the Skill Drill challenge. Unfortunately that leads to some pretty unusual creations, like the one Anne is holding above. They’ll be surprised to find out whom that creation belongs to, since the tasting is blind. That also means they didn’t get to watch the recruits during the cooking challenge, which is enough to see that many of these recruits barely know what they’re doing, especially when it comes to something as spectacular as French crepes.
