What to Watch: Trisha’s Favorite Foods, Giada’s Kid-Friendly Recipes and a Star Returns to the Competition

Trisha and BethThis weekend, Food Network has a bunch of new episodes that cover cooking for special occasions, for special guests and even for yourself. And if you’ve been watching Star Salvation, you know that one eliminated Food Network Star will be returning to the competition this Sunday.

First on Saturday morning, Ree is banking a few family-favorite recipes for the freezer to have on hand for later. Then, Trish and her sister Beth are cooking up all of Trisha’s favorite foods. On Barefoot Contessa, Ina is back in Brooklyn visiting a few famous eateries for inspiration in her own cooking. On Giada at Home, Giada is cooking kid-friendly recipes for her daughter’s dance class.

On Sunday morning, Jamie Deen is celebrating his brother, Bobby’s, birthday with a menu of all of Bobby’s favorite dishes. Then Bobby Flay is cooking up a Spanish barbecue menu. Come back in the evening for a new episode of Food Court Wars as two teams try to win over the citizens of their town, Wausau, Wis., with a casual diner versus a healthy food spot. Afterward on Food Network Star, the finalists are surprised to find out a former finalist returns to the show. This episode’s challenge will have them taping a food show that tests their storytelling skills. And on Restaurant: Impossible, Robert must help revitalize a 26-year-old family restaurant business that’s in desperate need of more motivated management from the family.

What to Watch: Fast and Easy Recipes, Grilling Seafood, and Empanadas vs. Tacos on Food Court Wars

Ree DrummondThis weekend on Food Network it’s all about quick and easy cooking for everyone from busy moms to young adults. Then it’s competition time with new episodes of Food Court Wars and Food Network Star.

Start Saturday morning off with a lesson in time management from Ree, who is testing herself to see how fast she can cook a meal, starting with a 30-minute dish and moving on to a 5-minute challenge. Then Trisha is showing her friend who’s a mom how to get a great weeknight supper on the table in no time at all. On Barefoot Contessa, Ina is visiting some New York City hot spots before heading home to cook a few inspired dishes. Then Giada is cooking up fast recipes that young adults living on their own can easily tackle.

On Sunday morning, Jamie Deen is preparing a picnic menu inspired by nature’s sweetener, honey. Then Guy is cooking up dishes that he hopes his restaurant-owner friend will appreciate, including duck sliders and squash chips fried in duck fat. Later, Bobby is grilling a Northeast seafood menu that features lobster rolls.

Come back Sunday evening for a new episode of Food Court Wars where two teams battle it out to win a food court restaurant. One team specializes in empanadas and the other in tacos. On Food Network Star, the remaining hopefuls must create a dish featuring a unique ingredient and then auction it off to a roomful of foodies. On Restaurant: Impossible, Robert helps a foul-mouthed restaurant owner clean up her act, get her staff on her side and improve the restaurant.

What to Watch: Summery Picnics and Backyard Barbecues Plus the Premiere of Food Court Wars

Food Court WarsOn Saturday morning, Ree prepares a summery menu to celebrate the end of the school year. Then Trisha cooks a movie-inspired menu with her sister and friend. On Barefoot Contessa, Ina visits Brooklyn to learn the secrets of making grits and baguettes and samples some cheeses before heading home to cook for Jeffrey. And on Giada at Home, Giada helps plant a garden for an elementary school and prepares a picnic menu for the kids.

Then on Sunday morning, Jamie’s throwing a picnic on the beach. Guy is having his family over for a panini party. Inspired by the Italian grill, Bobby makes a refreshing summer barbecue menu.

Come back later for an evening of competition, first with an episode of Cupcake Wars featuring the Blue Man Group. On Food Network Star, the remaining finalists must practice their pitches and present in front of a panel of executives. Then tune in for the premiere of Food Network’s newest competition show, Food Court Wars, hosted by Tyler Florence.

On Barefoot Contessa, Ina heads to New York to learn the secrets behind some specialties like steak, bagels and coffee. And on Giada at Home, it’s a special celebration for Aunt Raffy.

Sunday morning, Jamie is preparing a meal for his family restaurant’s softball team. Then Guy is cooking a Sicilian menu with his pal. Meanwhile, Jeff is inspired by a local seafood restaurant to make a couple of unique sandwiches. Finally, Bobby is grilling up an Italian-inspired menu capped off with espresso sodas.

In the evening, it’s competition time with an ‘80s-themed episode of Cupcake Wars. Then it’s Fourth of July on Food Network Star, where the remaining finalists must do live cooking demos. And on Iron Chef America, it’s Bobby Flay vs. Michael Voltaggio.

On Saturday morning, Trisha is joined in the kitchen by her friend Karri and they’re cooking up a steak dinner. Afterward it’s a special episode of Giada in Paradise, as Giada takes viewers on an adventure through one of the most dazzling European cities, Monte Carlo.

On Sunday morning, Jamie Deen and his son Jack are setting up a pop-up restaurant in the backyard with a menu that will appeal to adults and kids alike. Afterward Chilli from TLC joins Guy in the kitchen to cook a bouillabaisse. Later in the morning on Sandwich King, Jeff takes a trip down memory lane back to his college town and prepares a pork sandwich and grilled ham.

In the evening it’s a special Harlem Globetrotters-themed episode of Cupcake Wars. After that, it’s Iron Chef Garces vs. Iron Chef Morimoto in the fourth battle of Iron Chef America Tournament of Champions. Finally, Robert Irvine helps save a barbecue restaurant in Texas.

On Sunday, watch Guy in the kitchen with Chef Jonathan Waxman as the two cook up an Italian menu that includes a seafood salad and a spring soup. After, on Sandwich King, Jeff meets his match, “the Breakfast King,” and learns to make some unique breakfast sandwiches that he’ll later adapt. In the evening, tune in to see a cosmic-themed episode of Cupcake Wars. Then it’s round 2, battle 1 of the Iron Chef America tournament. And last, watch a new episode of Restaurant: Impossible where Robert must help a family fix their dysfunctional restaurant and relationships.
