When we visited Chef Marc Forgione at his restaurant (in secret!) shortly before his winning moment aired on The Next Iron Chef, we wanted to see him in his element: Back in the kitchen, cooking. But Restaurant Marc Forgione is closed for lunch, so the laid-back, mohawked chef asked what he should prepare from the menu. We got back to him with this proposition: “Just make yourself some lunch. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy—whatever you’d normally whip up.”
The resulting pork belly and pickled apple sandwich is so addictively delicious, we had to share Chef Forgione’s recipe with you. Iron Chef Forgione’s recipe, that is.

When people visit Food Network, they are often surprised, and I’ll venture to say disappointed, that they don’t find delicious heaps of food for the taking by our offices. I guess one can rightfully assume that one of Giada’s awesome, mouth-watering plates would just be waiting for them in a grand buffet line. Alas, this is not the case. [We do have coffee though.]
Unfortunately, we must whip up these plates of heaven on our own. And speaking of an amazing Giada plate, give her Sea Bass alla Fiorentina a try…
Full confession: I am by no means gifted in the kitchen. New husband will happily attest to this. But I recently tried out Giada’s Florentine-take on sea bass and I cannot tell a lie — it was unbelievably good. You have to try it! It’s so easy and I am now one with the beauty of canned tomatoes…and the magic of flour; a little dusting and the fish tasted just right.
Next, I’m attempting Tyler’s Ultimate Holiday meal….
Have you taken on any amazing plates lately?

PS — Wish me luck with Tyler.

I have a feeling that I’m doing what a lot of you are doing right now: staring at the leftovers in my fridge and wondering how many more Thanksgiving sandwiches I can squeeze out of the turkey and dressing. Anyone in the same boat?
Since I can’t help but wonder how many of us printed out recipes from FoodNetwork.com and are hovering over the same leftovers this post Thanksgiving weekend, I thought it would be fun to do a “Thanksgiving Show and Tell” of sorts here on The FN Dish.
What FoodNetwork.com recipes did you whip up this past Thursday? Send me all your food beauty shots at FNDish@foodnetwork.com — I’ll collect all the photos I get and put them up this coming week! Just be sure to email them over as soon as possible as you’re munching away on the leftovers.
Now remember, this is show AND tell, so be sure to give me a quick sentence or two about how it turned out? Was it a smash? Did you forget to set the timer and burn it? Give me a good story!
Now, back to the fridge for me!
