The Food Network social media team has a big announcement to share!
We’re always looking for ways to make our social media communities better for our fans. And for that reason, we’re very excited to announce that our Facebook brand page will be changing over to the Timeline format today.
We know that Timeline is new and can be a little intimidating at first, which is why we want to show you all the reasons we’re excited for it.
The biggest benefit of the new layout is how much easier it will be for our fans to find content and explore the rich history of Food Network. The dates you’ll find at the top right of the page are clickable so you can dig deeper into the milestones that built Food Network.

Food Network recently asked fans on Facebook: “Which Food Network chef would you most like to take cooking lessons from, and why?” Many who responded didn’t want to choose just one, but those who did shared exact reasons why. Guy, Bobby, Anne and Alton were among the top picks. Here are some of the highlights:
- Randy Nez: Bobby Flay. His story is truly unique and inspiring, and one of his many influences is my homeland — the beautiful Southwest. I love his ability to throw down with just about any dish, and I love to grill.
- Sharon Grimes: Guy Fieri because he’s fun, he knows what he’s talking about, we use the same cooking style and he’s not as messy as some of the others. He loves his family, he’s always involving his kids and he’s not trying to make himself look bigger or better than anybody else.

As the weather starts to change from scorching hot to blissfully breezy, so does the temperature of seasonal dishes. Fall is synonymous with comfort foods like warm soups, casseroles and baked goods hot out of the oven.
Not surprisingly, when Food Network asked Facebook fans “I can’t wait to cook _____ this fall,” more than 3,300 people had something to say.
The countdown to full-on fall has officially begun, and fans can’t wait to bust out the crockpot and make warm, hearty chili. Try Giada’s White Bean and Chicken Chili. Red pepper flakes bring heat to the cannellini beans, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese at the end is melt-in-your-mouth good. Add some beef to your beans with Ellie’s Three Bean and Beef Chili. Chipotle chile, adobo sauce and red bell pepper add color and flavor to this comfort classic.

Cheese, pepperoni and pineapple, oh my. Food Network asked Facebook fans: “In your opinion, what is the best topping for pizza?” Not only did 3,843 of you answer, but you also shared extremely detailed choices.
Spinach, bacon, ham, mushrooms, olives, garlic — you guys want it all — as long as it’s covered with gooey cheese. Extra cheese was the number one topping of choice, with pepperoni and pineapple following close behind. Fans love pineapple classically paired with ham, but don’t mind if it’s mixed with chicken or bacon.
Every veggie possible made the list, but you’ll heap your slice high with mushrooms, olives and onions. Sprinkle a bit of garlic on top and you’ve got yourself a dream pie. Now that you’re probably craving pizza, make some at home instead of ordering in.

TJ: I would have to say Thai food — drunken noodles with duck, so hot it hurts. Or Fruity Pebbles in ice cold milk.
Michelle Buffardi: Is there any food that you hated as a kid but learned to like as a grownup?
TJ: I hated liver, now I love it. Especially one that’s a little enhanced.
Conway Obleman: What would be your last meal?
TJ: It would have to do with mussels, a little roasted bone marrow (meat butter) and a salad so that I can go into the afterlife with a svelte figure.

Jennifer Waters: What is the best way to season a cast-iron skillet?
RD: Jennifer, I have always generously smeared the skillets with shortening. I then heat them for a long time in the oven. But lately, I’ve been cheating and getting the pre-seasoned Lodge pans. They’re amazing.
Nova Wick: How does it feel to transfer from blogging on the Internet, where you interact and talk to your fans, to getting your own show?
RD: Nova, it’s all been such a gradual thing. I love blogging the most; I feel like it’s my core. But the show gives me a chance to show a slightly different view/perspective than my still photos and (sometimes weird) writing. To answer your question, it has felt very natural.

- Food Network Facebook fans "like" Fettuccini Alfredo
We asked our Facebook fans for their favorite Italian dish today and the response was overwhelming — over 1,000 fans commented! But most impressive wasn’t the number of posts, it was the list of mouthwatering ideas; scrolling through is like reading the ultimate Italian menu.
Many fans couldn’t decide on a favorite dish and commented that they loved anything Italian, while others got creative with “dish” and let us know their Italian crush — Giada De Laurentiis, Sophia Lauren, Antonio Sabato Jr., James Gandolfini, Jon Bon Jovi (is he Italian?), Al Pacino and someone named Sergio at a neighborhood pizzeria.
Other highlights from the post include Italian dishes both classic and unexpected:

We asked for it, and you delivered, with gusto, the wackiest flavor combos you crave. Some pairings were surprising, to say the least (shaved ice with sliced avocado and chocolate sauce on top? Really, Shannon Wahyudi?), but some sounded pretty good to us, like Tracy Schadler‘s salami and honey-walnut cream cheese on rye sandwich, Sara Beth Hanson‘s gouda, pear and anchovy on a Triscuit idea, or Mary Jefferson Rabon‘s pancakes and syrup served with a side of cheddar. A few were quite simple, Larry Marshall‘s favorite, for example: Hershey bars and beer. More still were elaborate – Donna Malarsie offered up her (healthy) crave-worthy recipe: Quinoa with feta, toasted almonds, orange pieces and dried cranberries tossed with a shallot, dijon, olive oil, lemon dressing, and Bill Hughes made us drool a bit thinking of his Smoked Coffee and Mignonette Pepper-Crusted Leg of Lamb.
