What will the stars and suits behind Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Mad Men and the other Emmy-nominated shows be dining on at the 2014 Emmy Awards Governors Ball on Monday night after the big ceremony?
Winners will celebrate, and those without statuettes will compensate with a sumptuous three-course meal featuring local seasonal vegetables and a fresh take on meat and potatoes. The food selections will highlight a variety of hues in keeping with the evening’s theme: a “Kaleidoscope of Color.”
The 3,800 assembled guests will start with a Grilled Peach and Heirloom Tomato Salad featuring little gem lettuce, candy-striped figs, Burrata cheese, Vidalia onions, a honey-lemon vinaigrette and toasted Marcona almonds, all seasoned with fleur de sel, peppermint and basil.

This Sunday night the most famous faces of the small screen will gather in Los Angeles for the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards to celebrate a year of outstanding performances on television. Your favorite celebrities, like Tina Fey, Jeff Daniels, Michael J. Fox and Sofia Vergara, will strut their stuff on the red carpet, and while you’ll likely be watching the drama unfold from your living room couch and not outside the Nokia Theatre, you can surely honor the nominees at home with a themed menu of eats and drinks.
Start the party with flutes of Food Network Magazine’s Red Carpet Cocktails (pictured above), bubbly adults-only beverages featuring pomegranate juice, gin and champagne, and serve a simple appetizer alongside them. Tyler’s Cheese Fondue (pictured right), made with Swiss and Gruyere cheeses, is a richly decadent pick and similar to what the Drapers served during the Season 6 premiere of Mad Men, nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Tyler accompanies his creamy pot with an array of bite-size dippers, like bread, apples and vegetables.

Even though you may not be in L.A. to catch a glimpse of your favorite celebrities, you can still cheer them on from the comfort of your living room. Create a camera-free version of the red carpet at your house and host an Emmy-watching party with your friends, complete with a menu of award-winning eats and drinks inspired by your favorite shows. Check out Food Network’s star-studded spread below, then tell us what you’ll be munching on during the Emmys.
Kick off the celebration with a batch of Ina’s pretty-pink Pomegranate Cosmos (pictured above) as a nod to Girls, that show you love to hate. These five-minute cocktails are a girl’s best friend, made with a mixture of vodka, orange liqueur and fruity pomegranate and lime juices. Best of all, you don’t need a shaker to prepare them — just add the ingredients to a pitcher, refrigerate and pour into chilled glasses.
