In a Cutthroat Kitchen episode where the name of the game was The Best of the Worst, in which Alton Brown was to unleash a flurry of the most-diabolical sabotages ever created, it was expected that chefs would fall to these downright evilicious — and hilarious — challenges. While that was indeed the case a few times tonight, in Round 1 a chef stumbled not entirely because he’d been sabotaged. In fact, it was due to his own poor shopping that he faced an early elimination.
The task was to cook an all-American breakfast, and as Alton explained, “Chef Joe came out of the pantry without eggs and without meat.” For judge Jet Tila, who learned of this misstep on the host’s After-Show, the question was simply, “What was he thinking?” Both he and Alton agreed that in this case, it wasn’t the challenges that took the chef down, as they said in tandem, “He sabotaged himself.” And Jet noted of Chef Joe’s decision, “If you’re going to call something French toast and not have an egg custard, you’re done in my book.”

Boot Camp will be graced for the first time ever with some of Tinseltown’s stars, who happen to need some serious lessons in cooking. Anne Burrell is back to serve as coach for the Red Team, with Rachael Ray signing on as coach for the Blue Team. The two will lead and mentor teams of celebrities, who are in serious need of some cooking chops. Boot Camp won’t be any easier because they’re famous!
These kitchen disasters will have to prove themselves contenders by cooking their way through challenges geared to testing their skills, growing their confidence and turning them into good cooks. The grand prize of $50,000 for charity will be awarded to the celebrity who has made the most improvement over the six-episode run of the competition.
The celebrity edition of Worst Cooks in America premieres Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9|8c.

When it comes to being face-to-face with a super-decadent dish, like a frosted buttery cake or an ooey-gooey, cheesy lasagna plate, there are two ways to approach it: Avoid it at all costs, or embrace it for the wild indulgence that it is. Each week on Guilty Pleasures, your favorite Food Network stars come together to share those over-the-top plates that they simply cannot — and do not want to — ignore. Curtis Stone surely isn’t shy about his picks for guilty pleasures, including a DIY ice cream sundae that he seeks out in California.
Recently Curtis took his penchant for decadence one step further by sharing with fans six of his richest dishes, from crispy fried chicken to fruit-laced whipped cream on his blog. “Whether it’s churning creamy pasta or whipping up chewy brownies, sometimes the desire to be naughty just cannot be stopped,” wrote Curtis. Just in time for summer cookouts, he shared his take on a seasonal staple, pulled pork, and in true Curtis style, he took the dish to the next level with bold toppings. His Pulled Pork Sandwich with Homemade Coleslaw and Grilled Pineapple (pictured above) features a simple barbecue sauce made with a mixture of orange juice and soy sauce, promising a tangy bite. Given the time constraints on the clock and the process of adapting to a brand-new kitchen, cooking in Cutthroat Kitchen can be tricky — and that’s not even taking into the consideration having to maneuver sabotages. Add in those unexpected and downright diabolical challenges, and it may seem like all bets are off when it comes to turning out winning food. But that wasn’t the case on tonight’s all-new episode, when in the first two rounds, the two chefs who did not have any sabotages to contend with were sent home.
In Round 1’s French omelet, Chef Craig was gifted by Chef Paul a tightly coiled pan in which he was forced to make his omelet, and he did it — and did it well. But Chef Paul, who had enjoyed a round of sabotage-free cooking, was eliminated, as judge Jet Tila explained, “It was just a weird plate. Nothing about that plate reminded me of an omelet.” Host Alton Brown noted that Chef Paul had focused on making an accompaniment for his eggs, and Jet warned against that: “Cook to the expectation of just the dish. Don’t go crazy.”

Things got spicy on tonight’s episode of Chopped
, with all of the baskets packing some heat — including dessert. While most would be hesitant to make something sweet from a basket full of fiery foods, the Chopped judges — Alex Guarnaschelli, Marc Murphy and Maneet Chauhan — handled it flawlessly, using some very out-of-the-box combinations after the episode ended. On an all-new Chopped After Hours
, they try their hand at the dessert round with chile pepper honey, devil’s food tres leches cake, pink lemons and canary melon.
“You’ve got to make sure you taste your ingredients before you cook with them,” Marc says as he coughs from the heat of the chile pepper honey. When Ted points out that he can assure Marc the canary melon is not hot and will offer some relief, Marc doubts his assurance, saying, “Well, maybe — you know — in the Chopped basket they might have infused the hot in here somehow. They might have put, like, a syringe in here!”
