Cheesecake Pancakes — Most Popular Pin of the Week by in Community, August 12th, 2012

Most restaurant chains keep their most popular recipes under lock and key, but Food Network Magazine has created exact copies of the dishes, like this week’s Most Popular Pin of the Week: Cheesecake Pancakes.

Chunks of creamy cheesecake are incorporated into a classic pancake batter and each flapjack is cooked until golden brown and topped with a sweet strawberry sauce, featuring fresh berries and strawberry jam. Top each stack with a dollop of whipped cream or a pat of butter.

Chocolate Pots de Crème — Most Popular Pin of the Week by in Community, August 5th, 2012

Oftentimes, we may have a hard time understanding a dish’s popularity. Like last week’s holiday cookie craving. Who saw that one coming? Well, this week’s Most Popular Pin of the Week, Food Network Magazine‘s French Chocolate Pots de Crème, needs no explanation.

If there’s anything we love, it’s chocolate. Lots of it. As athletes skitter across our televisions on a nightly basis, there’s no better time to curl up on the couch with a little pot of custard in your lap. Each one is brimming with bittersweet chocolate and all things fluffy and light. Really, there’s nothing like submerging a spoon into something so rich and, well, it beats running the 100-meter dash.

It’s so hot that untimely images of snow boots, defrost buttons and holiday cookies are wafting into our minds — on Pinterest, at least. In fact, this week’s most popular pins were all about holiday cookies, with Chocolate Cheesecake Candy Cane Bars, Oatmeal Cream Cheese Butter Scotch Bars and Lemon Ricotta Cookies With Lemon Glaze leading the pack. Hey, they may be holiday cookies, but who’s stopping you from whipping up a batch right now?

Save for the wishes for winter weather, why all of the holiday cookie buzz? This year, Food Network is leaving it to the pinners to choose one of the featured cookies for the 12 Days of Cookies celebration. Whether you love a good snickerdoodle or crave ginger snaps, it just takes a re-pin to place your vote.
