Geoffrey Zakarian may be an all-star Iron Chef, a no-nonsense Chopped judge and, most recently, one of five co-hosts to join Food Network’s brand-new series The Kitchen. But for one hour this Saturday, Jan. 4, he’ll prove that he’s a social media maven too.
To coincide with Saturday’s series premiere of The Kitchen, Geoffrey will take over Food Network’s Twitter account, @FoodNetwork, beginning when the show starts at 11am/10c. He’ll be live tweeting until noon, giving fans an all-access look at the making of The Kitchen and sharing behind-the-scenes snapshots of him and his fellow co-hosts, Jeff Mauro, Katie Lee, Marcela Valladolid and Sunny Anderson, and insider tidbits about what fans can expect from the group this season.
Stay tuned to Food Network’s Twitter page this Saturday beginning at 11am and tweet @FoodNetwork using #TheKitchen to hear from Geoffrey and ask him your most-pressing questions about The Kitchen. He may answer some of them online.

This week’s Most Popular Pin of the Week is a classic with an added chocolate lovers twist. Give banana bread a fancy spin when you mix in chocolate chips. Pour chocolate glaze on the cooled bread for a sinfully sweet creation.

The holidays are all about indulgence, but in the midst of enjoying sweet Christmas cookies, savory glazed hams and a celebration-worthy cocktail or two, it can be nice to sit down to a better-for-you meal. Just ahead of the Christmas holiday, check out this week’s Most Popular Pin of the Week to find a healthful salmon supper that is made with just a handful of ingredients and is ready to eat in only 20 minutes.
Start with good-for-you salmon fillets, and for a bright punch of flavor, brush them with a tangy mixture of Dijon, light mayonnaise and maple syrup, then bake them until they’re cooked and tender on the inside. For added freshness, sprinkle chopped cilantro on each piece of fish before serving.

Chili is a comfort food favorite (especially during football season), and this week’s Most Popular Pin of the Week says has it all: Ree’s recipe is a simple, perfect meal in a hurry.
Ree combines ground beef with two different kinds of beans, lots of herbs and spices, along with tortilla chips and lime wedges on the side. Sure you can eat the chili in a bowl with a spoon — but it’s a lot of fun scooping the chili onto chips too.

Why: In order to end childhood hunger, Team No Kid Hungry needs to continue raising critical funds to put programs in place that provide access, education and awareness.
How you can participate: Ask your friends and followers to join in the Give-A-Thon to help No Kid Hungry, where they can potentially win great prizes in the process. Use your influence to recruit advocates and donors in the fight against childhood hunger.
