12 Days of Cookies: Cream Cheese Cookies
It’s that time again — Food Network’s annual virtual cookie swap is here! The stars of The Kitchen and the chefs in Food Network Kitchen (our bustling test kitchen) have some ideas that are bound to make it into your annual rotation. Stock up on flour and sugar — you’re gonna need 'em.
These fluffy, crumbly cookies melt in your mouth — but not before hitting you with a triple dose of cream cheese. First, it gets mixed into the batter. Then, frozen chunks are folded into the dough (and won’t disappear into the cookie during baking). Finally, it’s whipped into the glaze for a finishing tangy bite.
We topped the cookies with lime zest and minced cranberries for a Christmas color palette, but the topping ideas are limitless — consider your favorite cheesecake flavorings for inspiration.
