by in Shows, January 5th, 2015

Kids Baking ChampionshipIn Food Network’s new series Kids Baking Championship, premiering Monday, Feb. 2 at 8|7c, hosts and judges Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli will lead eight talented kid bakers through challenges designed to find the most-impressive and creative young baker. In each challenge the contestants, ranging in age from 10 to 13, will be tested on their baking skills and originality as they whip up delectable desserts, including creative cakes, mouthwatering cookies and pastries.

These talented kids make baking seem as easy as pie, but the competition is about more than sweets and goodies. At stake is a prize package consisting of a set of Food Network bakeware, a profile in Food Network Magazine, an original cake featured at Charm City Cakes and a $10,000 grand prize. But only one will become the Kids Baking Champion!

Episode Lineup Below

Bake Sale — Monday, Feb. 2
For the Kids Baking Championship kickoff, eight kid bakers will work hard to serve up two delicious signature items for a bake sale. Midway through the challenge, hosts Duff and Valerie reveal a third must-use item, a classic childhood flavor combination. Two kid bakers will be sent home in a double elimination.

Dessert Imposters — Monday, Feb. 9
The kid bakers are asked to create dessert imposters — sweet treats masquerading as savory items. Halfway through the challenge, Duff announces a surprising twist: The kid bakers must also create an imposter side dish to accompany their main dessert in order to slice the competition.

Stuffed Puffs — Monday, Feb. 16
The kid bakers must make two dozen puff pastry desserts. While the contestants are hard at work creating the dough and delicious fillings for their stuffed puffs, hosts Duff and Valerie announce a savory twist: The kids must use the secret savory ingredient in at least one dozen of their treats. Only four bakers will advance to the final round.

Celebration Cake — Monday, Feb. 23
The four remaining kid bakers are tasked with a massive challenge for the finale: Each must create a celebration cake for the winning moment, along with baked party gifts that complement the cake in flavor and design. One kid baker will be crowned Kids Baking Champion and take home the $10,000 prize.
