This weekend on Food Network, watch all-new episodes from Amy, Giada, Jeff and more in the mornings, plus new Sunday night episodes of Food Court Wars, Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen.
It’s all about cheese on Heartland Table as Amy runs the gamut of cheesy recipes. Then on The Kitchen, the co-hosts make the ultimate meatloaf and share their best meatloaf tips. Also Haylie Duff stops by to talk about her new book The Real Girl’s Kitchen, a copy of which will be given away tomorrow on FN Dish.
On Sunday morning, Giada cooks recipes that are healthy but packed with flavor. Then on Sandwich King, Jeff makes Caribbean-inspired sandwiches. On Buy This Restaurant, Keith helps a couple find a perfect pub location in sunny Florida. In the evening, on Food Court Wars, two couples go head-to-head in a battle to win an eatery space. After, watch four comedians step into the Chopped kitchen in Round 3 of the Tournament of Stars: Will it be all fun and games or a serious competition? And last but not least, watch an all-new episode of Cutthroat Kitchen, in which one chef must make breakfast in bed, literally.
The Midwest produces some of the most-influential and well-known cheeses in the country, and in this episode Amy Thielen celebrates the wide, comforting world of cheese dishes. Few can resist the charms of Crispy Cheese-Curd Risotto Cakes served with a side of Cherry Tomato-Arugula Salad, Best-Ever Cheese Soup and Hank’s favorite, Stovetop Mac and Cheese with Bacon. (Episode: HB0203H)
This week on The Kitchen, Jeff and Geoffrey team up to make the Ultimate Meatloaf while the other co-hosts share their tips for making the best meatloaf. They “Conquer and Cook” Tofu, Eggplant and Chiles while Jeff makes Crispy Szechuan Eggplant and Tofu. The hosts look at photos sent in by viewers to answer “Can I Eat This?” Actress and cookbook author Haylie Duff makes Chicken-Wrapped Dates and Herb Mushroom Crostini. And last but not least, “It’s 5:00, Somewhere,” so Geoffrey makes a grapefruit margarita to celebrate spring.
Giada makes four healthy recipes that may be low in fat and calories, but are full of amazing favor. The menu features Egg and Kale Breakfast Wraps, Roasted Vegetables with Chipotle Cream, Grilled Salmon and Pineapple with Avocado Dressing, and a Banana and Walnut Smoothie.
No need to travel when Jeff’s making a Jamaican feast at home! He’s starting with a jerk chicken sandwich topped with mango chutney and fried plantains. Then he’s moving right on to Snapper Escovitch-wich Pickled Peppers and a Scotch Bonnet Aioli. And nothing says Jamaica like an island cocktail, like his “Booty Shaker” with caramelized orange slices.
Tim and Jennifer are risking their retirement savings and job security to create a new life and business together in sunny south Florida. Restaurant broker Keith will give them a variety of options to help make Tim’s lifelong dream a reality.
Newlyweds Jennifer and Lara, owners of the gastropub “Full Circle Tavern,” go head-to-head with Jonathon and his wife, Christine, owners of a small neighborhood restaurant called Jonathon’s Oak Cliff, in Lewisville, Texas.
Bringing the funny to the Chopped kitchen, four comics (Sinbad, Tommy Davidson, Robert Wuhl and Gillian Vigman) compete for a chance to move on to the $50,000 finale. The stars open up the first basket and get a pork delicacy and gummy candy. In the entree round, the three remaining comedians must make jalapeno poppers palatable with beer can chicken. And with vanilla cupcakes in the final basket, transforming the ingredient becomes key for the two finalists.
It’s happy hour in Cutthroat Kitchen and one chef is forced to use alcohol as the only means of heat to prepare a bar snack. Breakfast in bed is given a whole new meaning when a chef must prepare a breakfast burrito in bed. And Alton finally cleans out the fridge, but one chef must use those ingredients to make bread pudding.
