Chef Samuelsson needs a class in communication. If he ever gives a compliment, it is followed with a "but" and a negative. The "but" wipes out the compliment. He needs to learn from the pros how to give constructive criticism.

I agree with the comment above – Chef Samuelson ALWAYS has a negative to add – and on one recent episode he went on this tirade about how a plate should have had chutney on it when it wasn't remotely a basket ingredient – and further pushed the chutney agenda during the crucial judging portion – it was unfair to the contestant to be judged upon that Samuelson wanted some chutney – if he's have a craving for chutney then by all means go make some and eat it! LOL

here is a suggestion for a basket ingredient: SCRAPPLE – most people I encounter have no idea what it is – it is a breakfast meat that is popular just in the mid-atlantic region (Baltimore, Philly, etc) it is delicious fried crisp with some syrup – although apparently lots of people eat it different ways…

one final note is that I went to 3 different grocery stores and have yet been able to find marscapone – probably one of the most popular pantry items on chopped – never heard of it before chopped – no one I ask has ever heard of it – and I cant find it anywhere!

I feel the same way about Chef Samuelson, he is always negative and its not constructive most of the time. I use to love watching him, but since he's been on Chopped, not so much!

Won't be watching week four. Can't stand Tasha Smith

    • Tee says:

Hopefully you meant you can't stand the characters that Tasha Smith have portrayed, because I doubt it very seriously if you personally know her to make that kind of comment. Either way, I'm sure she's not losing any sleep at night because you can't stand her. I mean really, there are three other contestants competing on that episode.

Is it Pam or Pan? Oh the N is silent! P-A-N-M

I'm always glad to watch when there is an All-Star Tournament. Looking forward to seeing what the newbies are going to bring to the table!

I used to enjoy watching all of the "Chopped" episodes. However, if a black person is competing, you can be assured that he/she will be the first to go. I am beginning to view these programs in a negatively and am certain others feel the same way.

  10. Jean says:

Would love to see a list of the charities for which the contestants are competing.
