Go Behind the Scenes of Chopped Canada

by in Shows, January 7th, 2014

Chopped CanadaChopped is taking the competition up north, to Canada. In the new series from Food Network, premiering Thursday, Jan. 9 at 9pm/8c, four chefs will take their chances cooking with mystery basket ingredients in three judged rounds. The competition is basically the same as the classic Chopped with the winning chef earning a cash prize of $10,000, though the panel of judges, the host and the currency differs.

Judges include well-known Canadian chefs Chuck Hughes, Roger Mooking, Susur Lee and Michael Smith, among others. You might also recognize the host, Dean McDermott, as the winner of Season 2 of Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off. The biggest difference between the original Chopped and Chopped Canada though is probably the set.

Can someone tell me where I can buy the spice jars that are used on this show. I love them. Thanks

I also have a problem with host Dean, after reading a quote from him saying that he is "sexually insatiable". ew. The program is about food, for Pete's sake! When I see him hosting a food show, I can only think "double EW"!

Dislike the host for the same above reasons and more both him and his wife are just pure trash. Also not fond of the judges either.

OK, Food Network…. did you not get it from the last years postings that Dean McDermott is horrible, is a bust and is disgracing your network. I think the other shows, hosts and entire Food Network staff would be embarrassed, as well they should be, by having Dean McDermott on their network. Did you think by having him quote nearly word for word the comments of Ted Allen and try to imitate Ted Allen he would work out – sorry, you are SO WRONG! Dean is still terrible and it's disgusting that you still have him on your network. If it's a matter of money, pay him off and move on. Certainly you could find a better host than that creep. Bob Tuschman and Susie Fogelson should take note, listen to their viewers and make an executive decision and dump Dean McDermott. Thanks for listening.
