All New in 2014: 5 Stars Will Join Forces on The Kitchen

by in Shows, December 11th, 2013

The KitchenThere’s no question that in most homes, the kitchen is the warmest room in the house, the place where memories are made and stories are shared — not to mention where family meals are prepared day after day. And beginning this winter, five of your favorite Food Network stars will celebrate these aspects and more of the kitchen on an all-new series.

Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian, Katie Lee, Marcela Valladolid and Sunny Anderson will come together on The Kitchen, premiering Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at 11am/10c, in a weekly morning show to not just cook some of their signature recipes together, but to dish on current food trends, chat about their families’ strategies for easy weeknight meals, swap money-saving tips and help you get the most out of your favorite kitchen gadgets. As these stars will gather around the kitchen table week after week, each will lend a unique perspective to the conversation, among them Katie’s often-healthy point of view, Marcela’s flair for Mexican cuisine and Geoffrey’s penchants for crafted cocktails.

What else can fans expect from The Kitchen? Plenty of laughs, to be sure, plus tried-and-true dishes to impress kids and adults alike, tips on quick cooking for your family and a bit of friendly competition from time to time — even appearances from special guests.

Mark your 2014 calendars now for the series premiere of The Kitchen on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 11am/10c.

Hello, On your show you showed the candle on the cake that opened up. Can you tell me how I can get one. Love the show

  2. Mary says:

The show is an awkward mix of personalities and makes me feel uncomfortable watching it. Bring back Ina in that time slot. You've ruined my day.

  3. Frannie says:

This is not a show I will watch again. To much chatter, disorganization and the voices are very loud and not at all watchable. Please bring back Ina.

  4. Patrice says:

its just another The Chew…which also sucks. Upsetting because I love Geoffery……

  5. Sharon Hassett says:

Great show, my question is to Sunny Anderson who showed us that LOTUS CANDLE, and said she would show us where & how to purchase this item. Thanks, Sharon Hassett

Here is some Outside feedback… ( Love the candle ) Bring in someone you pick or get a letter from, or recipe and have them present it and work with you all on the show. From " Our neighborhood eats, to Yours"
type thing. Have an audience. go outside and be interactive. Knock on someone's door and ask what they are having for dinner, and you guys make it ( of course with a spin ) Play games! Have a wonderful Day!

They took off Giada and Ina for this? It's boring, and, except for Geoffrey and Sunny, they could have found better hosts. I haven't liked Katie Lee since she was extremely rude to Morimoto on Iron Chef (the rudest judge I have ever seen on Iron Chef – Katie, that is, not Morimoto). If the network wanted to make something that wasn't just a knockoff The Chew, they could have tried to get food personalities with more street cred (e.g., Ming Tsai, Joe or Lidia Bastianich (sp?), Spike, Antonia or Jennifer from Top Chef, Danny Meyer (sp?, or Dana Cowen). They could also interview some of the real movers and shakers in the food world. Unfortunately, like The Chew, they play to the lowest common denominator. Perhaps they don't realize that there are some of us out there who read the major food magazines (Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, Saveur) and the NY Times restaurant reviews. Some of us even read 25-30 year-old Gourmet magazines.

Enjoyed the show. Would like to get one of the Lotus candles, that was awesome! Where can you purchase one of them.

  9. Louise says:

Horrible! TOO much forced hilarity, TOO loud, TOO much talking on top of each other. Get it off the air. I won't be watching this one again.

  10. Vicki says:

Am also interested in where to purchase the candle.
