Star vs. Chopped Hot Dog ShowdownWe challenged two prestigious groups — Chopped judges and Food Network Star winners — to a summer recipe showdown. All season long, we’ll present head-to-head matchups of mouthwatering summer recipes from each team — from refreshing cocktails to fresh farmers’-market salads to the juiciest backyard burgers. By voting each week here on FN Dish or on our Fan Feed, you’ll determine the winning recipes.

At the end of the summer, the team that tallies up the most wins will celebrate with an all-star Labor Day party menu. Who will prevail as Summer Showdown champion — Star or Chopped?

This week, Star Season 7 winner Jeff Mauro and Chopped judge Scott Conant are cooking up their best hot dogs. Both chefs beef up their grilled dogs with over-the-top toppings – so whose will you serve up? Cast your votes below!

Hot Dog Showdown: Jeff’s Chicago-Style Hot Dog vs. Scott’s Hot Dog with Gorgonzola and Marinated Tomatoes

Jeff’s hometown pride shines through in his Chicago dog topped with bread-and-butter relish and hand-cut fries with celery salt.

Scott’s fancied-up dog is loaded with Gorgonzola cheese, juicy marinated tomatoes and smoky grilled onions.

    During classic cookout time, unfortunately, Scott's is a lil too fancy for most people I know. But, I'd be all over it!!!!

    We've made Jeff's Chicago dogs a few times and are having them tonight for dinner. So good! Scott's looks good too but not sure if the kids would be so brave to eat the gorgonzola.

    I love Gorgonzola. I dont think Id pass up the opportunity to try scotts.
    But if I'd already had it once, it would depend completely on my mood. really theyre different genres of hotdog. hard to decide. the fries look great.
