Summer Side Showdown: Melissa’s Grilled Potato Salad vs. Geoffrey’s Gingered Coleslaw

Melissa takes traditional potato salad to the next level by grilling red potatoes and sweet potatoes to infuse them with smoky flavor.

Geoffrey’s take on classic picnic slaw is flavored with ginger and garlic, giving it a slight Asian accent. He adds golden raisins for a bit of sweetness.

It's a shame you have made yourselves judge and jury when the trial has not even taken place yet. Paula deserves better than this. You have made a boatload of money using her and her Southern traditions/beliefs for years. You should have waited–like other companies she is associated with– to see what the outcome was going to be. You really jumped the gun on this one and are losing a lot of faithful viewers in the process.

  2. Mary P says:

Unbelievable the way you have dumped Paula after all these years. You have lost a viewer.

  3. No More Food Net says:

Your producers forgot the average age of people who watch/log on are older and wiser than you. Your pathetic attempt at being PC is in your face!

Really Food Network…. the Paula Deen situation… wow. ya'll made a huge mistake. You owe her an apology. She has a very successful restaurant and employs plenty of black people and is friends with them. You have overstepped your boundary and jumped the gun. I have a different outlook now on Food Network. Haven't decided if I will continue to watch. Think about what you did….. She is not a monster.

I for one at least was glad to see that Paula Deens contract would not be renewed .. not because of any comments just because she always seemed so fake to me . i won't watch her shows and the next one to go should be anne burell its one thing to have personality on tv its other to act so stupid i don't watch her either but i'm loyal to the rest of the network and the mag. anyone who won't watch the channel anymore as you have all threatened over one star is silly … so don't watch

And another dissatisfied viewer. I was already down to the minimum viewing of the FN when you used to be my first choice for programming. Paula Deen would no more have evil intent than a butterfly. We all have said stupid things when younger or when angry – oh except for you FN execs and of course your sponsors. Just absolutely ridiculous. I think you are too chicken to start a real topic on the subject that ones like this have to be hi-jacked. And the worst cut of all? Something that will send me screaming from the room? You replaced her on Saturday mornings with bass mouth Giada. The shame of it all. I am wondering what kind of drugs you have to take at night in order to sleep.

paula deen apologized and should have been given another chance. Other celebrities have said and did the same or worse and have been forgiven. I hope the food network gets a clue from all her fans that people should not have to lose their jobs over words they say. we are getting too politically correct -whats next , you go to jail for saying the "n" word. Why so much power given to a word and only that word.

  8. Janet says:

Thank you Food Network for taking that bigoted cackling hen of a woman off the air! Had her past racial slurs (plural) been the end of it that would have been one thing, however she continues to condone racism and discrimination which cannot and should not ever be condoned in today's society. whether or not everyone has said or done it is irrelevant. as a television personality a person is held to a much higher standard and this low class individual named Paula Deen just doesn't measure up!

  9. Paula Follower says:

Shame on foodnetwork! You have lost viewers and the ones who chose NOT to judge and NOT to be God, will FOLLOW Paula Deen werever she goes….boy are you all dumb! Plus some of us are smart enough to know people now don't want to work so they SUE people to get rich…I for one will follow Paula Deen and her boys and continue to go to their restaurants because I am not being the one to throw the first stone….

  10. Veronica Davis says:

There are no words to express how disappointed I am in Food Network! I hope Paula goes on to bigger and better things! I hope all of you are sitting around a board room table regretting your hasty decision!
