Just imagine what the contestants go through every round on Chopped when they each stand in front of a mystery basket, getting ready to open the lid just as the clock goes off. It’s surely a feeling of dread as to what ingredients they might find inside, maybe even something that could cause nightmares, like an odd piece of offal, an exotic fruit or even candy.

FN Dish caught up with Food Network stars including Alton Brown, Bobby Flay, Michael Symon and Anne Burrell, as well as the judges themselves and other famous faces, to ask: “What’s your nightmare Chopped ingredient?” Watch the video above to hear which ingredient causes the most nightmares.

What would be your nightmare basket ingredient? Tell us in the comments.

You should do a drink round where the contestants have to make a drink as well as a appetizer, entree, and desert. You should put pop, a liquor, some ghost peppers, and chicken in the appetizer basket. You should put ice, lime flavor, vodka, steak, rice, and dehydrated onions in the entree basket. You should put sugar, margaritas, brownie mix, melted ice cream, and jalapeño peppers.

  2. Aerocake says:

Hmm, for the appetizer: barbeque sauce, Rome apples, whole snakehead, and blue corn chips
for the entrée: chicken breast, vanilla cream soda, roasted chestnuts, and okra.
lastly for the desert: jumbo shrimp, 100% dark chocolate, loroco flowers, and gouda.

  3. Jackier says:

They should something with a sugar free drink mix, condensed milk, some type of vegetable(maybe an eggplant), and some type of meat (I would like to see these match up with Quail or something like that)

  4. Jack says:

I love this show and watch it all the time. And I do love Ted Allen and all the judges.

I know it's very difficult to judge some of the episodes. However, I don't agree with the final decision by the judges in this episode "Sunny Side Apps" aired today 11/19/13 about 7pm Central Time. Chef Tony Should have won that $10000!

During the Dessert Round, Chef Cory took his bread pudding out too early. As a result, his bread pudding was underdone. In the meantime only one judge said Chef Tony's cookies needed more moist to go with.

During the Entry Round, Chef Tony made the best fish. I do salute Chef Cory on his cooking Asian fusion food, however Chef Tony can cook fusion food very well too.
