My Mom deserves the best! I will prepare some steak topped with sauted mushroom and onions and some broccoli rabe as a side. I will use the new cookbooks for a great salad and dessert recipe!

We use to get our moms to eat out, but as babies started to arrive it was somewhat complicated. One year we decided to stay home and cook for the grandmas. What we prepare is hectic because each one makes something different. However, it is fun, nice, and delicious. While old family recipes have had a great come back, new ones has become everyone’s favorite!

This year we will prepare fried chicken, pork, rice, grilled corn, cachapas with cheese, mango-avocado ceviche, bollos pelones, arugula and goat cheese salad with homemade vinaigrette, watercress and anchovy salad, homemade hot sauce, red velvet cake, chocolate chip cookies and dulce de lechoza. It is a crazy menu, but this year we will be about 20 people, so there is something for everyone.

Every year since I was but a little girl, our church held a Mother and Daughter Banquet. I think I've only missed a few – and I'm not 60! (How did that happen?!) So on the Saturday before Mother's Day, I'll be with my Mother and my Sisters and my nieces and their little girls at the banquet. Mother loves peanut butter – so I'll make up a basket of goodies (and include peanut butter) for my mother to enjoy!

My mom loves to look for morel mushrooms, but I don't enjoy it quite as much. So usually as part of her mother's day gift, I go with her to look for morels. For her mother's day meal, I plan to make grilled chicken, wild mushroom risotto (with some of the morels we find), grilled asparagus and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.
