What to Watch: Spring Celebrations and An Identity Crisis on Restaurant: Impossible

Giada De LaurentiisSpring has sprung and with that in mind, Food Network has some new episodes this weekend celebrating the season. On Saturday morning, watch Paula and Cheech Marin cook a spring-inspired feast. Afterward, Ree is having three generations of the family over for a Sunday brunch filled with comforting recipes. Giada’s putting together a spring luncheon that is sure to please everyone, even the kids. And Ina is sharing her secrets to entertaining along with a few easy recipes to add to your repertoire.

On Sunday evening, it’s competition time on a soap opera-themed Cupcake Wars. And on a new episode of Worst Cooks in America, the recruits are tested on what they’ve learned so far, and they must also cook for their families. Finally, tune in for Restaurant: Impossible, where Robert will transform an unnoticed restaurant into one worthy of everyone’s attention.

Paula’s Best Dishes: “Spring Feast
Paula is joined in the kitchen by comedian Cheech Marin. The two are planning a springtime menu of Homestyle Meatloaf, Roasted Red Potatoes With Mustard Vinaigrette, and Green Peas and Mushrooms. Cheech shares his recipe for Spring Medley Salad. The two finish up the fun with a refreshing Strawberry Fizz.

Ree’s got a great make-ahead menu planned for an after-church Sunday brunch to host three generations of the Drummond family. Her centerpiece will be a Baked Glazed Ham surrounded by Drop Biscuits and Ham Gravy, Baked Eggs in Hash Brown Cups and Fruit Salad With Orange Vanilla Syrup. Sister-in-law Missy is bringing her famous Lemon and Blueberry Cupcakes.

Ina is sharing the secrets to effortless entertaining, including tips on creating a timeline and smart cheats/shortcuts. Worst Cooks in America: “Revisit Your Past Before the Last
The final four recruits take on a unique challenge that has them working closely with their mentors. They’ll be tested to see how far they’ve come in the last six weeks of Boot Camp. Later there’s a surprise, as they get to cook for special guests who are none other than their family members and loved ones.

Restaurant: Impossible: “Sweet Tea’s Restaurant and Catering
It’s Chef Robert’s mission to save Sweet Tea’s Restaurant and Catering in Pineville, N.C., but he must find the place first! David and Dana Cohen opened their business three years ago in a nondescript building, which hasn’t attracted an influx of customers — a major reason why the business is hemorrhaging money. Robert must fix the restaurant’s identity crisis and let the town’s residents know about its existence.

    I have two pet peeves. First, why don't the women with long hair put it back while they're cooking. I hate seeing hair hanging down when they are cooking. Second, why does Giada always show her cleavage? I know they make blouses that cover that area of your body. Not everyone thinks that's attractive.

    I hate the new website. It's not user friendly at all. I don't mind changes, but the y should be for the better.
