Make a Healthier Soup by Food Network Magazine in Food Network Magazine, February 1st, 2013
Hot Tips for Healthy Cooking From Food Network Kitchens’ Katherine Alford:
Sneak a little more fiber into your favorite soups: Use whole grains instead of white rice or noodles. We chose quinoa for the Chicken and Quinoa Soup in the January/February issue of Food Network Magazine because it cooks in just 15 minutes and adds a nice nutty flavor to the dish. You can also try quick-cooking barley, short-grain brown rice or whole-grain pasta in other brothy soups.

I have watched a lot of the cooking shows and really enjoy them. The problem is that most of us regular people do not have fancy gas ranges and double ovens and spices growing on the window sill. Maybe you should do a show where they cook with just regular type food and spices that come out of a bottle. A show where just the average person can actually make the dish without going broke because they had to buy some fancy pans or knifes to chop with. If it has more than 4 ingredients it takes to long to make. I love to cook and have made some very creative and tasty dishes with out all the stuff your shows have. Make a real cooking show, maybe some SIMPLE diabetic or healthy meals, that the everyday person can make everyday. just a thought.
