What’s in Your Ultimate Chopped Basket?

by in Shows, January 21st, 2013

Chopped BasketThree rounds, three different baskets and 12 out-of-this-world ingredients. Whether it’s Chopped Champions, All-Stars or regular-season episodes, that’s a lot of combinations to come up with.

So we’re asking this question: What would be included in your ultimate Chopped basket? Not something you’d want to receive, but something you’d give to a fellow competitor. Would there be two proteins? All sweets? Would you include one or two ingredients they’ve probably never heard of? It can be argued that the simplest ingredients like eggs, chicken, pasta and rice are sometimes the hardest.

Tell us what you’d choose in the comments below.

It seems like a lot of these chefs stay away from processed foods that we are familiar with, so things like swedish fish, bbq chips, grocery store brand sour cream and onion sauce, or even something with such a unique texture such as bubblegum.

For the dessert horse, peanuts, apples, and pickles. Your welcome.

Seriously, I would love to see a Chopped episode based on the Passover holiday. The contestants would be required only to use foods that are allowed during Passover. Everything that's not allowed would be removed from the pantry. As someone who follows the Passover food rules, its not so easy to cook creative meals from what we are allowed to use for those 8 days.

That is a wonderful idea. I myself do not have a passover diet; but believe that others need to have respect for all types of dietary differences. I think highly of understanding others beliefs and preferences in their diet/body consumption. I would LOVE to see chopped doing baskets and pantry items such as gluten free and vegetarian as well!! Maybe someday….

I think they should do an episode where they give 15 extra minutes to each round. Then start the round with only three ingredients with the last ingredient be added when the traditional time frame has elapsed and the contestants have the remaining 15 minutes to integrat a fourth ingredient into their meal.
