What’s in Your Ultimate Chopped Basket?
by FN Dish Editor in Shows, January 21st, 2013
Three rounds, three different baskets and 12 out-of-this-world ingredients. Whether it’s Chopped Champions, All-Stars or regular-season episodes, that’s a lot of combinations to come up with.
So we’re asking this question: What would be included in your ultimate Chopped basket? Not something you’d want to receive, but something you’d give to a fellow competitor. Would there be two proteins? All sweets? Would you include one or two ingredients they’ve probably never heard of? It can be argued that the simplest ingredients like eggs, chicken, pasta and rice are sometimes the hardest.
Tell us what you’d choose in the comments below.

i would love to see a totally gluten free chopped
Absolutely, its an enormously growing dietary issue and growing rapidly in the grocery sections.
I would like to see things like popsicles, popcorn, cookies and more on the mystery baskets. A candy theme. Think about the chocolate sauces and cheese cake mashed potatoes! Lol. Or Easter themed, think eggs and jellybeans. Haha. Never know.

Rocky Mountain Oysters, Walleye Cheeks, Rattlesnake. If you hunt of fish you can relate to these. If you are from New York city, you could have an issue!
I think there should be a twist in one episode, everything has to be vegan. That would throw the chefs a curveball.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe someday…………????? Yes, a curveball for chefs and judges alike…. If it were ever to happen they would need judges who are familiar in that area.
I would love to see what they can do with "Morcilla – Blood Sauce"
Basket filled with items from the typical home's "back of the pantry"… Canned beans, canned chicken, dried noodles, sardines, cocoa powder.
How about a all fruit basket no meat at all or a meat onely
Me to
How about any college themed food… Ramen noodle soup, Goldfish Crackers, Pizza, Cola,Peanut Butter or Nutella, and oh last night's homework…jk!
That's a great idea! Your idea gives me the idea of another theme-awful grade-school cafeteria food! Now, I don't know what they are serving now, but I'm assuming it's similar to what they served back in the day.
Appetizer: Canned Spaghetti-os, instant mashed potatoes, canned peaches, whole milk
Entree: Fish Sticks, canned green beans, white bread, and chocolate milk
Dessert: Instant Tapioca pudding, Instant Mac and Cheese, Instant Jell-o, and frozen carrots and peas.
Would love to see a vegan alternative episode.
Me too!
