Candles in the kitchen! Along with a nice display of wine bottles important to my new hubby and I (ones that were signed as the guestbook for our wedding, one we celebrated our engagement with, etc.), I have a tall jar candle that coordinates with the colors in our kitchen. I keep it lit whenever we're home. It not only adds sophistication to our kitchen, it also adds a nice ambiance and TO-DIE-FOR smell!

To add some sophistication it is all about the freshness! Fresh herbs, flowers, fruits and vegetables add color, scent and freshness all year even when it's cold outside.
