My favorite cake is Paula Deen's Grandmother Paul's Red Velvet Cake! I've made it many times, but the first time was for a good friend who is from the South, living here in the Northeast and missing home. It was his birthday and he said it was better than any red velvet cake he's ever had before. My kids request it for all of their birthdays ever since.
