It’s that time of the year again when Share Our Strength hosts the Great American Bake Sale, an incredible feat that asks people across the country to host or participate in a bake sale to raise money for the 1 in 5 kids in America struggling with hunger on one day, Saturday, April 28.

This year, Bloggers Without Borders is working with our own writer Gaby Dalkin, of What’s Gaby Cooking, to help spread the word via bloggers. Well, FN Dish wanted to help, too. Last year, they raised $25,000 through 26 bake sales. This year, Share Our Strength has set a challenge to raise $50,000 with the help of bloggers from all 50 states.

With just $1 connecting a child to 10 meals, the community would be helping Share Our Strength ensure that the more than 16 million kids facing hunger today never go hungry again.

Here’s how you can help:

Get Involved: Click here for a list of bake sales already taking place. If you’re interested in participating in a bake sale, please reach out to the host. If there isn’t a bake sale taking place in your area, maybe you’d like to host one (see details below).

Host a Bake Sale: If you’d like to host a bake sale, the first step is to register at GreatAmericanBakeSale.org/signup. Registering will get you access to online fundraising tools, and they’ll send you a poster and informational booklet. Additional tools and resources can be found in The Bake Sale Resources Center. They’ve got tips for your bake sale, flyers, stickers, pricing tips and more.

Once you’ve done that, email Gaby Dalkin (whatsgabycooking@gmail.com) with the following information:

City/State
Blog
Preferred Email Address

So far, bloggers from the following states have signed up: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington and Washington, D.C.

We’d like to help Share Our Strength reach their goal of $50,000 by putting a call out to the remaining states — we want to see all 50 represented. Let us know if you plan on participating: Snap a photo of your bake sale on April 28 and we’ll feature a selection of them on FN Dish (email the photo here).

I have a magazine Question?? If my subscription is good until May of 2012 why am I getting a past due bill?? It says this is my 3rd past due notice yet the subscription isn't up yet and I did not request to continue withthe magazine. Kind of a shady move Food Network Magazine. Shame on you!!!

Do you have to be a blogger to host? There are no sales in my state, Indiana, and I am considering hosting one but am not a blogger.
