by in Books, November 30th, 2011

debbie leeEvery year, a new batch of cookbooks hits store shelves. Some bad and some good, but only a handful (or 19 if you agree with The New York Times) rise to the top and really shine.

You’ll see a familiar name while browsing their list: Former Food Network Star (season five) contestant Debbie Lee‘s cookbook, Seoultown Kitchen: Korean Pub Grub to Share With Family and Friends, made the Times list with glowing reviews.

Debbie’s small plates, cocktails and Asian-inspired comfort classics make Korean food accessible. Sure, you might not be able to pronounce some of the ingredients, but we bet her beer-heavy recipes will make fans out of even her biggest haters.

What has happened to the Iron Chef program?????????????? First you dropped Emeril Lagassa and now the Iron Chef. I can't stand Restaurant Impossible. I used to watch the 6 and 7PM shows but now never watch Food Network.

Iron Chef is still on. I normally watch on Sunday's, but it's also replayed throughout the week.

Emeril is on the Hallmark Channel now. His show is great!

She had to go to a different media giant to get a fair shake. FN is getting too big of a head and making some bad programming decisions as of late. How many are tired of the weekly line up that is played 3 different times a day and then 3 different times after midnight. Can you say boring! No wonder fans are wandering to different networks to get the foodie fix.

  3. deena says:

Debbie Lee was a Next Food Network Xtar contestant, not Iron Chef everyone, although I do agree with the comments about FN as a whole. They need more focused and diverse programming

    She is obese!

  5. A powerful share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing just a little evaluation on this. And he in reality bought me breakfast as a result of I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! However yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading extra on this topic. If doable, as you develop into experience, would you mind updating your weblog with extra particulars? It is highly useful for me. Massive thumb up for this weblog publish!
