And The Great Food Truck Race Winner Is…

by in Shows, September 26th, 2011

The second season of The Great Food Truck Race hit the road with eight new food trucks and a grand prize of $100,000. Every Sunday, we saw each truck pull out all the tricks to stay in the game. But, ultimately, one truck said goodbye each week. Sunday night, it was down to the final two: The Lime Truck and Hodge Podge. Both battled multiple Speed Bumps and a Truck Stop that changed the competition for good.

Warning: spoiler alert after the jump.

In the end, The Lime Truck took home the grand prize. After winning the Truck Stop, they received a $1,500 reward that would make it nearly impossible for Hodge Podge to catch up.

Stay tuned for our interviews with both trucks later this week.

While fans couldn’t choose the winner of the show, they did have a chance to vote for America’s Favorite Local Food Truck. Check out the results.

My kids and I really love the Great Food Truck Race. Can't wait for Season 3. My son asked me a question and hopes someone would know. Do the teams get to keep the money at the end of the race that they made during the competition or does the money go to the show and the teams are paid participatory fees? I was thinking that they would get the money they did earn at the end of the race subtract expenses since they normally would be making money with their food truck.
