At this New York Wine and Food Festival event, Southern wine and spirits expert Allen Katz poured a few classic cocktails and shared recipes, so you can try these old gems at home.
French 75
1 1/2 oz. Plymouth Gin
1/2 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
3/4 oz. Simple Syrup
2 oz. Perriet Jouet Brut Champagne, chilled
Shake the first three ingredients over ice and strain into a flute or chilled cocktail glass. Top with chill champagne.
Side Car
1 1/4 oz. Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac
1/2 oz. Le Combier Triple Sec
3/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass, half-rimmed with sugar.
Colony
1 1/2 oz. Fifty Pound Gin
3/4 oz. Fresh Grapefruit Juice
2 tsp. Maraska Maraschino Liqueur
Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Mary Pickford
1 1/2 oz. Cruzan Light Rum
1 oz. Unsweetened Pineapple Juice
1/2 tsp. Real Grenadine (Employees Only)
Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
