Last Sunday’s Grand Tasting at the New York Wine and Food Festival promised to be the ultimate New York City culinary showcase, and that it was. The event featured samples from two hundred of the city’s best restaurants and wine and spirit purveyors offering samples on a pier overlooking the Hudson river. Attendees ate their fill of fabulous food and mingled with their favorite Food Network stars who were all in town for the festival.

Paula and Michael Deen came all the way from Georgia to take in the festival, greet fans and sign copies of Paula’s cookbooks.

It wasn’t just the chefs in attendance, food experts from all fields traveled far and wide to demonstrate their products and share their knowledge and passion for food.

Chefs from Cooking Channel, like Roger Mooking from Everyday Exotic, below, also represented, chatting with fans, posing for pics and serving up lamb burgers and mac and cheese.

In a separate (less crowded) tent across from all of the food and wine, Bobby Flay met fans and signed copies of his new cookbook, Bobby Flay’s Throwdown.

Fans waited in line for a chance to chat with Bobby and to have copies of his new book personalized

Did anyone out there attend the festival? What was your best celebrity chef sighting?

I have to say that the Neely's are the most annoying couple on TV! Maybe alittle more cooking and less honey baby, sweet heart, baby love! What the heck?
