Sure, summer is all about fantastic in-season veggies, but sometimes you need to take an afternoon to sit back, relax and smell the hickory smoke. Low-and-slow BBQ and grilled meats are definite highlights of my summer.

My heart skipped a beat when, browsing the booths at New York’s Meatopia event, I caught sight of this beautiful, whole roasted pig, courtesy of Smokin’ Joe’s True-Blue Texas Barbecue.

I waited my turn in line and was rewarded with a small pile of tender, succulent pork topped with a non-traditional, creamy herb sauce. Devine.

    i agree with the comment on ketcup i dont eat it but with very few things my husband on the other hand drowns his food in it an i am a pretty good cook i’ve been told an i cant stand it that he eats it with everything

    well the best bbq i ever ate was my dads he would put a whole turkey in a brown paper bag put a red apple in 1end an a onion in the other end an smother it w/butter an salt an pepper an how i miss him and his outdoor cooking
