Facebook fans, we love you! We asked you which chef, real or fictional, alive or dead, you'd most like to set a place for at your dinner table. More than 3,000 of you wrote back!

Lots of you chose butter-loving French food maven Julia Child, like fan Jessica Conaway, who writes: "Julia Child hands down…She never called herself a chef, but she was still a pioneer." Her hypothetical datebook may be full up, but you can hang in the kitchen with Julia every weekday on our brand-new sister station, Cooking Channel.

For some of you, only a cartoon chef would do. Many folks picked the Swedish chef from the Muppets -- here's hoping he'll make donuts before he gets to your house. And some of you proved that food matters more than looks (or species) when you picked a certain rodent chef from Disney's Ratatouille.

You also wanted lots of Food Network chefs at the table, from Bobby to Alton to Guy to Emeril to Ina. Cory Crane chose our queen of Southern cooking, Paula Deen, because "She reminds me of my Mom who passed away 13 years ago. I have all of her cookbooks and she always puts a smile on my face when I watch her show. "

Speaking of smiles, that's what clinched the deal for our own Ace of Cakes with fan Kim Hughes: "Duff! He's culinary and pastry trained so you get the best of everything. Plus who wouldn't enjoy a great meal with a person full of life and laughter?"

Some picked haute cuisine over home cooking -- modern-day legend Thomas Keller was a popular choice, and Sue Werber Mathes chose the masterful Jacques Pepin because "he's the only chef that ever got my dad to cook an entire meal for our family. It was so great I can still taste it - 20 years later!"

Meanwhile, fan Jeff Fitzgerald wants to share his table with two food-world legends: "I bet James Beard would have been a lot of fun. And I'd love to have been in the kitchen with Escoffier to see the dinner cooked, then sit down with him to enjoy it."

So who do we want to have over for dinner? You, of course! You've been making us hungry all day with a potluck of delicious dishes. We'd start out with Diane's Raspberry bright, fresh raspberry salad and a batch of Stephanie's beautiful painted bread (pictured above).

Nothing says summertime like a plate of BBQ ribs, like David's saucy version. Yum. Pass the napkins, please!

And we've always been fans of Ina's Chocolate Ganache Cupcakes, but Veronica's photo just moved them into the must-bake now category of our recipe list.
