BREAKING NEWS: More of 5 Ingredient Fix!

by in View All Posts, April 30th, 2009

Hopefully everyone out there in TV land caught the debut of our favorite dog Newman on this weekend’s episode of 5 Ingredient Fix, and everyone understands why we’re so excited about our newest star.  Our newest star Claire Robinson, of course!  I’m happy to be the very first one to report that we’ve picked up the show for 13 more episodes of 5 Ingredient Fix! You heard it here first!

So now that it’s clear that everyone wants more Claire the big work begins – how does she go about developing her recipes?  Well, every Food Network chef has their own way of working, but no matter what, every recipe has to be tested multiple times to make sure it’s absolutely perfect.  Claire tests her recipes at least three times and usually more, which as you can imagine takes quite a bit of time.

Recipes should also get tested with different equipment – electric stoves and gas stoves, convection ovens and regular ovens, non-stick pans and regular pans – the list goes on and on.  You just can’t test a recipe enough.  It’s a good thing that all of Claire’s recipes require no more than five ingredients each, because that’s a lot of food!

So be sure to catch the current episodes airing on Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM, and check back here to find out when the next batch of episodes will come along.

Congratulations to Claire. I think 5 Ingredient Fix was launched at just the right time. Given that we are all time and budget stressed right now. I love the show and look forward to the new series!!

I’m sorry, but this show does nothing for me at all! I get more from Cooking for Real and Secrets from a Restaurant Chef from both the content and the hosts. She make look good and is a nice person, but the show isn’t any different or brings anything different from any of the shows that are out there. I’m sorry this show and Ask Aida are two programs that the TV goes off. I think Foodnetwork can do alot better by bringing in shows with different ethnic backgrounds, instead of the usual and boring italian, american, french and southern cooking. That’s Guys shows are so good because he brings those other dishes to light.

Hi Fay! Well Newman has captured our hearts, and reviews are very positive Claire’s shows. The 1 *ding*, 2 *ding*, … 5 *ding* thingy is a bit annoying to me, I must admit. I am, after all, able to count to five. (it’s that degree in mathematics I got goin’ for me, ya know) *wink*

But the minor critique aside, it seems like a good show. In response to Brenda’s comment, I would be interested in seeing Claire highlight some more rather unusual ingredients – plantains, perhaps. An tasty mole with 5 ingredients? Is that possible?

Speaking for myself, if there is an ingredient in a recipe I don’t know or don’t understand, I’ll keep flipping through the cookbook, webpage, magazine, until I find something with which I know how to cook. Seems to me Claire’s show could open up a world for many.

I love Clair! She brings different types of recipes with few ingredients. That’s great! Especially for people that might be intimidated by long grocery list recipes. I can’t wait to see what she makes next!
