Shows & Gardens Galore!

This past week has been super busy for not only FN’s Studio A, but also a few outside shoots, as well!

The Big Bite personality that is Guy Fieri has been cooking up a storm with some of his closest friends (hint – there are TONS of special guests in the upcoming episodes of Guy’s Big Bite). But not only that, Tyler Florence is back with another special, and it’s all about burgers coming in May! And this past Saturday, I got to hang out with Daisy Martinez of Viva Daisy. We shot around the Union Square Green Market and a few amazing locations in Jackson Heights, Queens (not too far from where I live!). One of the most classic moments happened at Daisy’s shoot when Mario Batali walked right pass all of us – we weren’t rolling at that moment, but it was still pretty hilarious.

Now that you’re caught up with whats been keeping our cameras busy, here’s an update on my little garden! While fairly upset that I had no sprouts last week, I started dreading the idea of only having 2 large pots of dirt on my desk. My friend Jon built me a shelf which lifted my spirits, but still, no sprouts… just bowls of dirt. And then it happened!!! This morning I came in to find some green stems popping their little heads out of the soil – BASIL! (Thankfully my little garden at home is strong, green and beautiful!)

Until next week – Cheers!

  1. I like this web blog very much so much fantastic info . “Our national flower is the concrete cloverleaf.” by Lewis Mumford.

  2. I hope Guy checks out Wells Bros. in Racine, WI. This is a family owned restaurant that has the best pizza! The crust was very thin and delicious. Not a bunch of dough in your mouth. Bravo!

Kendra, coolio! Your basil sprouts are adorable. :-)

I’m disappointed to find out there are TONS of guests on GBB; that’s the one show where we can see him cook and concentrate, undistracted, on the food. Ah well. What’s done is done.

Tyler’s been all a-twitter about his baby food and visit to the morning shows. Glad to hear he dropped in for a special. The Daisy Martinez shoot sounds nice – did Mario stop and join in? or just kept walking by?

Kendra, Kudos on the office garden. The sprouts of basil are very encouraging. I hope you will keep us up to date on the progress. I’m actually looking forward to seeing who Guy’s guests are. I do enjoy him alone but I think his vibrant personality truly shines with company. I can practically smell the burning charcoal thinking about Tyler’s burger special. Lastly, I’m excited to see what Daisy discovered at the Green Market…I guess I’ll just have to stay tuned! Thanks for sharing the inside scoop on the upcoming programs…Very exciting!!
