Staff Thanksgiving Throwdown

On key holidays, some FN staffers fire it up and throwdown — potluck-style. Thanksgiving is a huge holiday at Food Network so our potluck last week was nothing short of mouthwatering. Top prize commanded $25 bones and novelty kitchen tools were awarded for other categories — best side, best main, most apropos, fan favorite etc.

See if you can guess each pictured dish…

  1. My mouth is watering at the sight of this holiday feast! Everything looks irresistibly yummy! However, you forgot to give us the inside dish on who took home the $25 prize and best of all bragging rights for a whole year!! Looking at the dishes its hard to tell what each item is (moments like this would totally be enhanced with smell-a-vision). Top left Apple Pie - Top right I’m thinking squash but I wouldn’t be the ranch on it. Stuffing middle upper right - Chocolate Cake on the middle lower right - More Apple Pie on the lower left and finally on the lower right the remnants of a delicious dish!

  4. Good reminder! Thanks Robin (and nice work, Ruth Ann) ;)

Since the competiton was REALLY tight, Emily from the Food Network Store [Apple Pie], Suzanne from Operations [Shepherd's Pie, not pictured] and Greg from Technology [Pepperoni Bread, not pictured] ALL ended up winning cash prizes.

Kiira from Operations (Roasted Butternut Squash with Goat Cheese Crumbles), Janet from Photography (Roasted Sweet Potato Puree), Mallory from Production (Sausage Stuffing), Jonathan from Creative Services (Sweet Potato Streusel)and the MYSTERY chocolate mint cake with white frosting did not win but I can assure you that they were all DELICIOUS.

If you DID bake the MYSTERY cake, please come forward…

    ~ Mark, Food Network

PS — Jonathan’s Streusel was actually based on a recipe from his grandmother and not from Bobby… (still GREAT though). I did find this recipe from Tyler on the site though…
